Rescue Runners

Welcome to our Rescue Runners page!

764Rescue Runners is a group started by the Animal Rescue League of El Paso in order to get our shelter dogs some much needed exercise. It also provides them with training in socialization, improves their behavior, and gives the public a chance to see them outside of the shelter setting; which could possibly lead to an adoption!!!
Our organized runs are held on Saturday mornings, and usually go approximately 4 miles along the Rio Grande River Trail which runs behind our shelter. About once a month, we also schedule off-site runs out at McKelligon Canyon, or at running events within the El Paso area. All runners must sign up in advance to reserve their spot, so please email us to get a list of the current month’s run locations & meet times.
At the current time, we are requesting that all participants be 18 years or older. “Walkers” are welcome, just let us know when you sign up so we can match you up with a dog that is comfortable with walking instead of running. 😉
