Animal Rescue League’s 12th annual Dinner With Friends was held this year on Saturday, April 27,
2013. This is ARL’s biggest fundraiser. The community was invited to a fun evening with four legged
loving friends. The event included a dinner, silent auction and great stories about our year.
Ardovino’s Desert Crossing Restaurant has put on a “Brunch and Barks” the last three years. What a great place to have such an event. A percent of the proceeds from the local vendors will benefit Animal Rescue League. There will be vendors selling their homemade items and locally grown veggies and fruits, special dog events, a great brunch and dog adoptions by ARL. Well behaved and leashed dogs are always welcomed.
Animal Rescue League of El Paso has hosted their very own “PAWZAAR”. The event is held on the grounds of ARL and local artists and vendors come out the sell their homemade items. It’s a great way to see what our community has to offer and support your local artists. You also have the advantage to see some wonderful adoptable dogs and cats.
ARL also participates in many local animal events. In September the Parks and Recreation Department shuts down the Nations Tobin pool and then opens it up for you to bring your dog for a swim. This event has grown substantially in the last couple years so look for it again this year and bring your dogs!
The El Paso Saddleblanket has hosted “The Dog Lover’s Fair” sponsored by the El Paso Humane Society. The event usually takes place in October and rescue groups from all over El Paso and neighboring communities participate in a huge adoption event. ARL enjoys being a part of this event and has been very fortunate over the years to have very good adoptions. Also if you need anything for your dog you are bound to find it there from one of the many El Paso businesses that participate.
The PetSmart stores host adoption centers in their PetSmart locations all around the United States. Animal Rescue League of El Paso has been a partner with PetSmart for over 10 years and has an adoption center in the westside PetSmart. ARL has adoptions on Saturdays and Sundays, excluding some holidays and sometimes on Fridays when there is a special adoption event. ARL takes some of their adoptable dogs and cats for the public to see and or adopt.
Animal Rescue League of El Paso has been very fortunate to be recognized in the community with several special awards. We want to continue to be an important part of the El Paso community and feel very blessed to have made an impact on the pet population. ARL will continue to service the community and rescue the injured, abused, abandoned, stray, dogs and cats until there is no longer the need.
