Welcome to Animal Rescue League of El Paso!
Animal Rescue League of El Paso is celebrating 20 years of life-saving work in 2015. Thank you to everyone that has supported Animal Rescue League over the last 20 years! ARL has found forever homes for over 20,000 dogs and cats and could not have done it without your support.
Animal Rescue League of El Paso’s “Rescue Runners” Join the Fun!
Our Rescue Runners program is continuing to grow and we are having so much fun! The volunteer runners and walkers repeatedly tell us how rewarding it is and how happy they are to come workout with our pups. Even the dogs seem to be so much happier! Our long-time ARL shelter residents have begun to recognize our rescue runners and are so excited when they arrive. The ARL “newbies” may be a little scared at first, but they learn very quickly that the runners are there to help. It’s not just a workout; the runners take time to gain the trust of the dogs, give them affection, get to know their personalities and even teach them tricks!
Our organized Rescue Runs usually take place Saturday or Sunday mornings at our shelter and continue on to the Rio Grande River Trail that runs behind it for a little over 4 miles. Our current meet time for the summer season is 7:30am to leash up and get comfortable with your running buddy and then we head out from the shelter at 8am. All participants must sign up in advance to reserve a spot on each run. If you are interested, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to get signed up!
